Let’s talk Pasteurization and Roasting!

log5 pasteurization                           Pasteurization equipment

Visit Log5 – Booth #935

During The Almond Conference, Sacramento, CA, December 6-8

Integration of our pasteurization system in existing roasting operations yields a validated kill step that is independent of the roasting degree and therefore allows for optimum flavor, color and texture development for all types of nuts.  The Log5 pasteurization system is designed to produce ‘raw-pasteurized nuts and seeds or work in tandem with a roaster (existing or new).  This allows you to leave the products virtually unchanged (but pasteurized) and/or roast to a specific color and flavor.  Even really lightly roasted products will comply with the highest food safety standards!
Log5 specializes in turnkey pasteurization systems that achieve a consistent 5-Log reduction in dry foods such as nuts, seeds, grains, spices, and herbs.  Our systems are continuous, non-chemical and maintain the original quality of the product.  As a member of the Royal Duyvis Wiener Group, Log5 also specializes in nut roasting systems, nut spread & paste refining lines, as well as defatted protein powder production plants. Royal Duyvis Wiener is a 130 year old Dutch company specializing in industrial processing equipment for the cocoa, chocolate, nut and seed industries.

“Koco” is now Kocotek: Company introduces new name, website, and logo

It is our pleasure to let you know that earlier this week, KOCO, Inc. introduced the new company name: Kocotek. The new name goes along with a new website and logo as well. The rebranding reflects the evolution of the company’s equipment and service offerings, as well as its vision for the future.

“It wasn’t an easy decision to add ‘TEK’ to the KOCO company name after serving the industry for 37 years, but we are both excited and confident that our new name better resonates our wealth of experience in developing and providing  processing and packaging technology to the food industry”, said Joost de Koomen, President of Kocotek.

Founded in 1979, KOCO began as a supplier of equipment primarily for the cocoa processing industry. Since then, it has evolved to serve the broader needs of its customers and principals by adding solutions for chocolate manufacturing, confectionery processing, packaging, and nut processing industries. The name ‘Kocotek’ was chosen to reflect a more diverse portfolio of technology, as well as a successful and ongoing transition to become a true ‘full service supplier’.

Today, Kocotek’s resources extend beyond the initial supply and start-up of machinery. A multilingual staff offers customers full support and service, including spare part procurement, emergency parts delivery, maintenance, engineering, logistics and project management.

While the new brand and logo have changed to better represent what the company is today, Kocotek’s mission and values remain the same – to provide expert advice and complete processing solutions from world-renowned machinery suppliers, and to develop long-lasting relationships with customers through industry-leading service and support.

Stay tuned for more news!
